'Quite big jerk': Kolkata wake up to 5.1 magnitude earthquake! Kolkata Earthquake was extended towards Odisha too. A 5.1-magnitude earthquake in the Bay of Bengal jolted Odisha and parts of West Bengal, including the capital Kolkata, on Tuesday morning. The quake struck near Odisha's Puri at 6.10 am. However, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported yet. Earthquake tremors were felt in several places, including Berhampur, Balasore, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in Odisha. With Odisha falling in the moderately seismic-prone zone, the 5.1 magnitude quake caught people unawares. The tremors lasted for nearly a minute.
