Skywatchers can end the year with a rare celestial event-the "black moon." This term refers to the second new moon in a single calendar month.

According to the US Naval Observatory, the phenomenon will occur on December 30 at 5:27 PM ET (2227 GMT). In America, it will be visible on December 30, whereas Europe, Africa, and Asia can witness it on December 31, 2024. In India, the black moon can be observed at around 3:57 AM on December 31.
