We can all agree on the fact that Virat's form has dipped significantly in Tests in the last four years but a few points to note about Root and Williamson's rise. 1) England play significantly more Test matches than us. If I'm not wrong Root has played 25-30 more matches than Virat. 2) The pitches in India have become more difficult to score on, thanks to the rank turners we have been preparing. 3) Root and Williamson have played on relatively flatter wickets.
