Help out a 2nd yr Btech student here

Hello, i am in 4th semester rn in a reputed tier 2 college i have interests in the field of Operating systems, computer architecture, low level programming, systems engineering, compiler design, embedded systems and allied areas since people talk a lot about ML and AI, i know a lot about it but these areas get less touched upon the reason i am writing this post here is bcoz i want to know about the research and post degree (placement among others like corporate research, phd) scene in these fields in a university like IIT B, if anybody is also working on these areas, please elaborate more on the same. Frankly i am not really interested in ML and AI rn not to mention the insane hype train involving it it will help me a lot in fixing my mind in studying towards and giving GATE properly vs just as a backup option if placements dont work thanks in advance
