What are some fun social activities to do in Hyderabad?

To be honest I don't find Hyderabad to be a "happening place" and I have to search a lot for social events in the city. I have tried activities such as gym and dance but all these are regular, long-term activities and there are not much activities/meet ups/events for the short term or as a "one-time thing". I would prefer to take part in activities where I can socialize with people and where I don't have to spend a bomb (if I choose one gym session instead of full package, I have to pay 300-400, so I would prefer a social activity that costs lesser than that). Meetups.com doesn't help much in this aspect as I have to search a lot and there are way lesser events compared to cities like Bengaluru. What are your suggestions here?
