Suicide thread this morning

I literally started the day reading the post about a man telling us that he's committing suicide because of financial pressure and frustration as a husband and father, and being a husband and father myself who's felt suicidal in the past, I felt obligated to help this person. I left a comment on the thread and was hoping he'd reply. I was discussing this post with my mental health coach and wondering what could be done. Then, I got busy with a hectic day and when I returned home in the evening and checked this sub, I discovered that post was a scam to get money from sympathetic people, and now I'm fuming. Seriously, wtf?! Just needed to rant about this. Thankfully, I didn't transfer any money to that guy but noticed seveal others who did. I feel sorry for y'all. I genuinely don't know how supportive/empathetic to be the next time someone reaches out for help. Gonna be so much more cautious now.
