Need Help - Suggestions for a Telescope

Hello Everyone! Looking for recommendations for a telescope for beginners. My kid is turning 10 and has been asking for a telescope. The kid is a beginner and will mainly use it for star gazing / spotting planets etc. Can you kindly recommend the specifications I should look for. Also would be grateful if you can tell me about stores where can I buy one offline or suggest brands I can order on Amazon for under 5000. Thanks in advance.
