Wedding drums during ungodly hours

It's 12:20 am. There's been wedding drums playing on my street for close to two hours at this point and judging by the sound, they're not gonna stop anytime soon. If you ever get married like this (or know someone who will), just ask yourself this question - What's the point of such loud celebrations? Why should thousands of families on your street lose sleep for your mindless/sadistic "happiness?" I can't think of one good reason for such noise. Do you have any answers? Are we indulging in this nonsense just because others have done it (i.e. peer pressure) or do we seriously take pleasure in being oblivious to others' suffering?
