Rant on increasing trend of delivery drivers not coming to home and asking us to pick up at common points.
I have seen this happen in multiple time to my home and few of my friends as well. They either ask money or refuse to deliver at location we wanted Yesterday BlueDart driver argued for 30 minutes, acted irritated, shouted at my family members, in hopes of us caving in. He acted confused and his time got wasted by us for misguiding it seems! We dropped location via SMS, Whatsapp, called him and guided him, but he acts dumb and entitled. Finally my mother had to lock our house and had to walk half a Kilometer to pick my office laptop because it was an important package and no one else was at home. The Amazon courier guy demands "goodwill amount" and Swiggy/Zomato guys say "tip" and won't leave us. When refused, even threatens my friend that many around are spitting inside if they come again to the remembered address. When complained to their customer services, they just refund the money and call it a day. The gas cylinder deliverer asks "chai money" for every delivery and proclaims that every household gives some money, around 20 rupees. Dude, nobody is drinking 1200 Rupees chai for one single day ( at 50 households). So stop making up bullshit, I know it is alcohol and chicken. He threw the 10 rupee note to the ground that my mother gave him while neighbors were watching the whole commotion he caused. Hey shouts that I can call the agent if I wish and that he can demand this. We fought with him on this one and now he simply writes off as "house is locked" and delays our delivery. 10 rupees may be "throw-away" or "pity-to-beggar" money for you but it took sweat and blood no less for some of us. There is a reason we can only give away so much. Not every one is floating around with lavish fuck-you money, and not every one is entitled of our money on the grounds of compassion. **I am frustrated and depressed when I see social media dicks desperate for the momentary high they get while sitting on the high horse giving a diatribe about the "unique" sob stories these delivery agents have to go through, or justify it, while at the same time berating us with no empathy and calling us misers, callous and whatnot.** I may have to suffer their antics in the short term but I am at a loss on how to put an end to this in the long term. Please give solutions.5
