How do I move to Hyderabad with a hyperactive 8-year old dog and a bad salary?
My dad brought in Charlie in 2017. Just randomly one day he brought a 5-6 month old pup with a slight limp. He's been my brother ever since even though I never asked for a dog. I always knew I wasn't equipped to raise or train one. But once he brought him in he was family. My dad and I shared responsibilities untill I moved out to Hyderabad 2022. I came last year when my dad passed away. It was devastating. I stayed back to take care of my mom and dogs. Now this city is eating me up. I don't really like Vizag. It's dull, boring and I don't have any friends here. I'm an architect and the work here is boring as well. Now I have a good opportunity in hand. A good firm is opening up new office in Hyderabad and they say they want me to be there. It's not confirmed yet but I wanna move back to hyd anyways. That's where my career and life is. Vizag is not the city for young designers. Now coming back to Charlie, he's an hyperactive, kinda aggressive dog with separation anxiety. You can't leave him alone at house for even an hour. He's friendly with people but hates some dogs. He doesn't like attention but constantly needs someones presence. My career is at stake and I know I have to make some choice. i'm just posting here to get some ideas or solutions to my situation. The only suggestions I get from people irl are to "let him go", that I have to make the "hard choice". That's hard no btw. I love him and can't live without him. But also I can't live in this city anymore. My salary won't be as high as some IT people here. Maybe between 40-50k. So that's a huge problem. Also I can't leave my dog with my mom, she can't look after him. He's too much to deal with. Give me some ideas on how to deal with this situation. Mom isn't too keen on moving in with me and even I want to give her some freedom. She stays with dogs the whole day. TL;DR : My dad brought Charlie home in 2017, and he became family. I moved to Hyderabad in 2022, but after my dad passed last year, I stayed in Vizag for my mom and Charlie. I don’t like it here—it’s isolating and bad for my career. A good firm in Hyderabad might hire me, and I want to move back. But Charlie has separation anxiety, needs constant company, and can’t stay with my mom. With a 40-50k salary, housing and pet care are tough. People say to “let him go,” but that’s not an option. I need a way to move with him.1
