Can I be an anti materialist if I haven't succeeded in the material sense?

P.s. Here materialism refers to "a tendency to consider material possessions and physical comfort as more important than spiritual values." and not the philosophical view that the universe is only material. I think that even if I hadn't become an agnostic hindu, I still would have left this materialistic society. Had I been an atheist, I might have ended myself (Back then I was basically the biggest pessimist on earth lol) or just isolate myself as I have somewhat right now. However, the problem with my current self is that it...

    Question on Hope.

I am writing a fantasy novel that takes heavy inspiration from Lord Krishna's role in the universe. So, from what I know of Krishna, he says this quote Yada Yada hi dharmasya.... Sambhavami yuge yuge. But why exactly does he keep coming back? It is to destroy evil and establish dharma. What has he to do with this world which always goes towards evil? He explains in the mahabharata that he has belief in time and goodwill. Even I believe but I can't control the alternative thought. Because I...

How did you learn Sri Rudram and Chamakam from scratch?

I’m curious to hear from those who didn’t grow up learning Sri Rudram and Chamakam but took the effort to master it later in life. * What techniques did you use to memorize and perfect the chanting? * How long did it take you to become fluent in it? * Once you mastered it, do you recite it daily? * If yes, what niyamas (disciplines) do you follow along with the recitation? Would love to hear your experiences and any tips for someone on this journey!

How do you console yourself and what rituals do you do when you want to give up in life?

My mental health is feeling so bad and I genuinely don’t want to continue living anymore but I am not going to hurt myself. What do I read and what do I listen to help myself and my family is this difficult time? We are going through lots of money problems and family issues. I try to listen to Shiva Sahasranaam and Vishnu Sahasranaam. Try to read passages from Bhagvad Gita. But I feel like God has left me alone or something. I don’t feel any pressure or any...
