    Please help me interpret this statue (central India)

    This is Shiva, isn't it? Nandi appears behind his legs, and I suppose he is holding the snake Vasuki? And Ganesha sitting below him. Isn't it unusual for Shiva to have this many arms (eight pairs!)? Does that make the second character Kartikeya?
