    Is Mahabharata really that morally grey compared to ramayana?

    There's a common narrative about Hindu epics that ramayana is a very simple story with little ethical dilemmas and meanwhile mahabharata is a lot more complex and I kinda feel it's a gross oversimplification. For starters, We know that Kauravaas are the bad guys and have done messed up things to the extent that even god himself has stood against them(much like Ravana but ravana is a lot more direct evil). Characters seemingly getting tied with vows and making desperate choices(sometimes against their own wills) they made generations ago is a common theme in both the epics. We know that Kauravaas are bad guys. So I kinda think that both Ramayana and Mahabharata are equally grey but it's just that Mahabharata has a bigger cast of characters...
