Pooja room do’s and dont’s

Hey could anyone give me a general idea on how to maintain pooja room? We shifted recently and its I hope it maintain it better. 1. How often should I clean the idols? 2. I heard that in pooka room according to vastu there shouldnt be anything red and that green is considered good, is it true? 3. Is there any specific order on which side food and water should be placed? 4. Any order on how the idols should be arranged? 5. Should aarti with karpur be done everyday? 6. Is having any bugs in prayer room considered bad? (Our prayer stand is quite low and we’ve had one or two tiny winter bugs roaming around the idols) 8. Can brass idols be cleaned with chemical soap like pitambari and harsh brush? (Since we consider the idols gods weve never cleaned the idols with a harsh brush, just washed them and cleaned wirh a soft cloth) Please let me know any more recommendations on how to maintain the prayer room.
