How often should pooja clothes be washed?

I'm planning to get a saree to wear just for pooja. Do I need to wash it daily? I'll be wearing it for around 2 hours a day. Also, I read somewhere that stitched clothes are impure. So, should I hem the raw edges or let them be? Are there any rules about the colour and pattern of the fabric? Thank you!
