For those who have felt/heard/seen divinity, how do you deal with passing questions from others with only a fleeting interest?

I have heard the voice of several Hindu deities (and a few others from other religions but mostly Hindu) - I really don’t feel like explaining because it is late right now and there’s too much to explain. I am happy to have in depth conversations with those with a genuine curiosity, an open mind, and time to sit down for a long casual chat. I have only told my 2 of my closest friends and my parents. However, I find myself being very secretive about my experiences and dislike talking about it most of the time. To me, it’s the equivalent of bringing up sensitive topics such as the death of a loved one, a medical condition you don’t want others to know about, having so much wealth you are worried for your safety if others find out, not wanting others to know about your sexuality, etc. Spirituality has been an extraordinarily positive aspect of my life in the past several years, but I feel it would be irritating to speak to the wrong people about it. All of my experiences with god(s) are so different than the everyday hustle and bustle. I was at a friendly, social party a few months ago. In one conversation circle, the topic quickly jumped from sports to comedians (both were fine topics I took partook in) then quickly turned to religion by someone else. Then some of them started to bring up the typical “But there’s no proof! Where’s the scientific proof??” and I was about to speak about my own personal experiences but then stopped myself. There’s a time and place for it, and a loud, chatty party wasn’t it despite the attendees being well meaning people. Before I knew it the conversation shifted to pets. I would like to find ways to encourage others to explore realms beyond this limited maya, but I keep these experiences mostly to myself when not on reddit because it’s very difficult to explain the subtle and intangible aspects of this to others. I also don’t want to “impose” my beliefs or seem overly preachy because that will backfire too. So my question to those who have had spiritual experiences - do you tell others? What are your thoughts about this?
