Fasting For Shivratri.
Namaste, everyone. I have been planning to fast for Mahashivratri, but the challenge is that I am abroad, and it has only been a month since I arrived. As you all know, I am in a Christian-majority country, so I won’t have access to a temple. However, I have made up my mind to observe the fast for the entire day. Unfortunately, I also don’t have any resources to perform the puja—let’s just say it’s impossible under my circumstances. So, please guide me on how to complete this fast properly without making any mistakes. I am a devoted follower of Lord Shiva; to me, he is like a father. I am even considering a Nirjala (waterless) fast, despite having to work for 8 hours, but I believe Mahadev will give me the strength to get through it. What time should I begin the fast, and when should I break it? Or would it be okay to skip eating altogether? This is my devotion, and I am alone here in a foreign land, missing my mother and hoping for a better life. My life feels like a complete mess right now. I feel like a loser, growing more hopeless with every passing second. It’s as if I’ve already lost the battle and am just sinking deeper, with no one to pull me back. My only hope now is my Bholenath. I’m 30 years old, yet I still don’t have a stable life. Everyone around me whether younger or my age seems to be settling down, getting married, and living happily. Meanwhile, here I am in a foreign country, working hard in the hope of building a better future. I pray that I can return to my mother soon, having accomplished what I came here for. Har Har Mahadev.5
