Running competition in Metro

Everyday i see people running on metro stations at their full speed.. Although i understand that in morning they must be getting late.. or some of them trying to catch other metro.. But why running in evening..Why are you running so fast at the exit gates.. Will you be shot dea.d if you come last..Like in squid games.. They run like they missed their morning exercise and making up for that in metro. Or are you running because you won't have to stand and wait in exit lines.. because if that's the case.. that line is hardly for like 5-10 minutes.. They run like there's no tomorrow and push everyone in their way as hard as they can.. And top of that.... you will see them smiling while running,  and not tensed at all as if they are racing for fun as if some celebrity is at the exit gates and they're gonna leave.. and people want to take the selfie with them.. Is running in metro station a tradition that i am missing out? Because i can't understand this.. Also, is this the case only in Delhi NCR Metro or in every city that has Metro connectivity?
