Left an MNC without prior notice... Need help

A friend of mine left an MNC where he was in a 2 years bond. He left the company cause of personal reasons. They did ask him pay 1 lakh for relieving letters and other formalities but later they did give him clearance form (Not relieving letter) and closed his PF. Will he face any consequences from the MNC. Like a notice from a lawyer to pay back the bond amount...
