    Rant Alert - Misinformation

I'm sorry for going into a rant mode but this has to be said. The amount of misinformation being touted in the sub here is astonishing. Casual lurkers upvote such posts as a note of thanks, which leads to further false sense of information. Nothing personal, I won't be taking any names either, I am just bothered by the lack of accuracy misguiding enthusiasts new to the field of aviation. One person said that they have seen an F-35 perform a near stall and drop flares last time. Except it didn't. It was the Su-30 MKI of IAF which did that, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. As far as I know, dropping of flares is considered discharge of live ordinance and I don't think a plane belonging to another country would ever be permitted to do that. Another user said 3 days ago that the deadline for arrival has closed and therby implying that US aircraft may not participate in the show. But F-35 and F-16s landed last evening. One more user claimed that the F-35s from last time were F-35Bs from Marine Corps. Again false, it was F-35A from the demo team. The pilot was Kristin "Beo" Wolfe, I have even taken a picture of her getting off the plane after a spectacular show. Moreover, Marine Corps don't fly F-35B. The F-35C variant was designed especially for USMC. Unfortunately, there aren't many people around who can correct such posts either and it's really been getting onto my nerves. Rant over.
