License conversion

So I'm planning to go to US for my flight training im done with all my exams and medicals and after a very long search I also found a flight school l, but rn everyone's like license conversion process is a bit of a headache, so is there anyone who recently completed their cpl and returned to India? I just want to know your experience regarding this.
