Where to find people to date?

I don't think I can ever find someone on dating apps, I'm not good looking for it. I'm a shy and socially anxious person who cannot talk with people casually, but i genuinely want to date and don't know what to do, I'm not in college or school and currently working. For some people it seems its so easy to find people to date and for me I'm not able to find even a single person, i feel void and not good at times as well. I never even have friends who can listen or keep a check on me. I'm a very emotional person who just wants a person who can understand me and have time for me and love me that's it. I don't know what to do now?. I don't come across with people of my age and no friends are there atm, I get sad seeing people especially couples around me, pls suggest what I should do?
