Shoe cleaning scam at Connaught place

TLDR: Don’t get your shoes cleaned at CP ! I have been in CP quite a lot of times, and have seen shoe cleaners requesting you to get your shoes cleaned. They literally beg. This time there was one, requesting alot, with statements like “sir aate ke pese tak nahi hai”, so i offered him Rs 50. On that he said “sir pese ese nahi lete, shoe par brush marwa leejiye bas”. And little did I know, after cleaning he charged me Rs 480. His tone changed from requesting to demanding and even threatened to go to police. Stating I am at fault since i didn’t inquire the price. I managed to escape this scenario by siding with people who were sitting around and saw the whole scenario. If I would not have asked help from people around, I would have lost some cash for nothing.
