My dog is very sick and probably won’t make it

I don’t know what to do right now. He was such a healthy boy. I brought him home when he was 7 days old, I was 11. He was a little baby freezing outside and I took him in my furry jacket. He’s become a family member for 14 years. He’s stopped eating for a few days now, vomiting frequently. Vet says he just has food poisoning and will be okay. But looks like his body has started getting paralysis except for his head. The worst part is I can’t be there for him, I have exams, won’t even be able to say goodbye. Sorry if my post doesn’t belong here.
