Met an annoying guy in Flixbus
I was traveling from Anand Vihar, Delhi, to Dehradun on December 1st via FlixBus for my Japanese proficiency test. During a quick tea stop, I went out to stretch my legs and have a cigarette. While I was enjoying my moment of calm, this guy started chatting with me. He seemed friendly at first, but soon, I found his questions a bit intrusive. I was polite because I didn’t want to be rude, but honestly, I just wanted to finish my cigarette in peace. When we got back on the bus, I hoped he’d let the conversation go, but instead, he hovered around like he was debating whether to sit beside me. Thankfully, he didn’t. I could feel his eyes occasionally glancing my way, which made me even more uncomfortable. I had a random guy sitting next to me, and while he wasn’t someone I knew, it was still better than having Mr. Small Talk continue pestering me. Eventually, he got off at Rishikesh, and I felt relieved. It’s funny—some people don’t realize when they’re overstepping. I wasn’t there to make friends; I had a test to focus on. I hope he figures out how to read a room someday.3
