Entertainment only meant for the rich?

I recently attended a Parvaaz performance in Hauz Khas. I was a little late buying the ickets online, so I ended up paying 999 for each of them. That's fine, right? But when I reached the venue, the bar charged us 1k per person for "redeemable cover charge". We begrudgingly paid it. Then when we went inside the venue, the waiter told us that only the sponsor's (Jack Daniels) drinks were available and nothing else. Each drink was 600+ rupees. No beer, no soft drink, no other option. The only other option was an equally expensive beer, which would come up to 600+ including taxes. There was also no seating in the venue. Three hours in the cold (outdoors venue), while standing. All of this after paying 2k in tickets and cover charge + extra for whatever food and drinks. Me and my friends ultimately ended up paying 3-4k per person. None of us planned to spend that much in one night but all of us just went along with it kyunki "ab aa gaye hai toh paise de hi dete hai" type of sunk cost thinking prevailed. After all this, we just didn't enjoy the performance. None of these extra charges were transparently communicated in any of the tickets or websites. When we tried to argue, they'd show us the miniscule print of the T&C to cover their asses. Matlab if I want to go watch a band perform or just want to have a night out of fun, I have to expect this kind of sleazy arm twisting marketing?? The part I was most gobsmacked with was that people had absolutely no problem shelling out so much cash, even though they were also caught unaware with these hidden costs. So instead me and my friends looked "chindi" for arguing with the organisers. Worst part was when I later told my friend about it, even she was like, "Well, of course an evening out will cost 5-6k per person". I was like ????? Yeh kaunsi duniya hai, bhai? Anyway, lesson learned, I guess. Ab se ghar se nahi niklenge. People who earn limited amount don't deserve entertainment, I guess.
