I think something sinister is going on in my neighboring house

there’s a house next to mine that nobody talks about. not abandoned, not rented - just *there.* the windows are always shut, the gate chained, but not locked. it’s been like that for years. nobody comes. nobody leaves. but at night, the lights turn on. dim, flickering, like old tube lights struggling to stay alive. and i hear things. **every night.** screams. muffled cries. sometimes a deep, raspy choking sound, like someone gasping for air. other times, the sound of furniture being dragged, objects being knocked over. last night, around 3 am, a man was standing outside the house. not facing it. facing me. he wasn’t moving. just standing there, staring. no phone, no cigarette, no reason to be there. he stayed for almost an hour. then, just before he left, he turned and walked through the gate—into the house. the lights never came on. the noises never stopped. what should i do? i am not high or on drugs. i hear strange weird noises nearly every night now, i swear. i'm lowkey freaking out. should I go check it myself at night or something?
