Bad experience while house hunting

Have been searching for a house for myself in Sulur area for past three weeks. People have been rejecting me on following reasons- 1. They dont want to lent house to single men. 2. They dont want to let house to non tamilians. Its a democracy and everyone is allowed to have their own choices. But the experience with peoople made me think what did single and non tamilian people did here in the past that people are simply denying to rent the house to these people. Reached to this conclusion after enquiring around 70 house in Sulur and Kangalampalayam area past three weeks. The most horrible experience was this person who first confirmed and then backed off. I let go of two other deals I was having and I was supposed to see 3 more houses besides that deal. I wonder how many of them are still vacant. TL;DR- Having hard timing finding a house in Sukur Area as single non tamilian.
