World of influencers and celebrities
I’ve had the chance to work closely with some of the top influencers in Chennai, and let me tell you, there’s often a huge difference between what they show on TV, Instagram, or YouTube and what they’re actually like in real life. People around them treat them like they’re untouchable—like they’re almost gods. But they forget, these influencers are human too. The reality is, 95% of the content you see from them is paid. Every influencer, celebrity, and food blogger has a manager who handles their shoots and payments. They’re using our views to make money, but they’re not always honest with their audience. If you’ve noticed, a lot of food bloggers give glowing reviews of restaurants, and it's not always a reflection of their true opinion. Ever since COVID, influencers and bloggers have been earning a lot of money, but often at the cost of their authenticity. So, my advice is this: don’t blindly trust everything you see online. Be aware of what you’re consuming and who you’re allowing to influence you. It’s important to question the motivations behind the content.4
