Sensitive topic. Is it wrong to identify as a Brahmin

It’s not a rhetorical question. I am genuinely asking, is it wrong for a Brahmin to identify as a unique community. For example, Shettys of west karnataka also have a community that is defined by cultural things like language, behavior, food etc. Take my example. I am born into a Brahmin family. While I’ve heard about instances of casteism in my family years before I was born, nowadays the typical casteist behavior has reduced to almost a nil, because of people on my family becoming more and more aware. For example, keeping a separate utensils for maids was a thing for us 10/15 years ago, but now that’s a forgotten habit. (This is just an example which I feel many people would understand) Without putting down other castes or communities. Is it still wrong for a Brahmin to be proud of their culture, and simply identify as one. Idk how to word the question and explain it correctly, so I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I am willing to have a conversation, but also understand if the post is locked. Edit: I may have misused the word pride. Perhaps it is more of “cherishing”
