    Just a rant!

I visit chennai(hometown) once in 4-6 months. Last week Saturday I landed in chennai at 4 AM and was looking for the pre-paid taxi stand near Starbucks, usually book them as ola/Uber and autos are scammers. Found that it has been moved to aerohub. I waited in he battery operated vehicle for 10 mins as there no others. So walked all the way out(had 2 huge suitcases) and booked a ola auto(no ola cabs were available) which was showing 90 for keelkatalai. Auto guy called and asked for 30 extra which I said okay as I was too tired to argue. While dropping the ola app(Both the drivers and mine) showed 170 and ended paying 200. Not sure how it changed. On Tuesday, mom had to go to west mambalam, I tried booking ola auto which was showing 190, driver was asking 250, I denied and said will pay 30 more. He cancelled. Then found a direct auto who asked 200 flat. Later on got to know that there was a protest somewhere in saidapet to increase the rate of autos. What is the point to increase as most autos don't have a meter and charge on their own. Yesterday I returned back and dad helped me to book a cab via red taxi where in the trip was 200. In Thane, Mumbai we board the auto and then tell the location, autos rarely deny the location(they deny when there is traffic on the way to destination) and meter is switched on immediately. Only share autos charge by person which ply on certain routes. When will this be regularized?
