HELPP - Scam or Genuine
I got a call from FedEx customer care (American Number) regarding a parcel I've sent from Mumbai to Iran (Balochistan, but Balochistan is in Pakistan), they had an automated voice and everything. The problem is that I've never been to Mumbai in my life and I sure as hell never used FedEx for any parcel or courier services but apparently my name, office phone number and Aadhar was registered in their database. Now I thought it was a scam, but they didn't ask me my bank account number, OTP, place of residence, PIN, nothing. They called me up and told me this parcel bearing my name and Aadhar on it was ceased by Mumbai customs and they have found MMDA in it which is an illegal substance and they wanted to confirm the name and phone number and if I actually did send the parcel out. My phone number was given as a secondary number, I asked them the primary number to which KYC was done, and it was registered to someone called "something" Ali and has been switched off ever since. They asked me to go file a complaint in my local police station. When I went up to file a complaint they told me that it might be a scam, and if in case they call again, they asked me to connect with cybercrime directly and ask them to connect with the PD number that the police officer provided. Now I don't know what to make of it, given that they didn't ask me for anything and they genuinely asked me to go ahead and file a complaint. Any help or insights would be appreciated.3
