    Auto vs Rapido

I live in Chennai for the past 7 years (except 2 covid years). I prefer to use public transport the most and use Auto or Rapido in unavoidable situations. I see the introduction of this local travel apps including rapido, ola, uber has regulated the trip fare. Even Auto Anna can only demand extra from the base amount. When we reach auto directly for all the time they ask 2x price shown in apps.As it also has dynamic pricing for peak time, traffic and night hours. But for a single person travelling this a boon as it is cheap , and fast (recently I got struck in the traffic due to metro work and after rain effects, I quickly switched from auto to Rapdio bike, and the Rapdio Anna helped me with his driving skills and shortcut route to catch my pre-booked long journey train) but on the other hand Rapdio can be but risky too as they vehicle condition, driver's skills are not monitored (adding this since one my friend met with an accident while traveling in rapido bike). Can't we regulate both the sides ? I'm not sure why meter model is not working in Tamil Nadu since I saw it is very successful in Mumbai. And also I think there is a need of little safety regulations in bike taxi.
