22M | Confused About Career Path | Masters vs. Waiting for Accenture vs. Switching Fields

Hey everyone, I’m a 22-year-old. I completed my [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) in Electronics and Instrumentation from a Tier-2 university in June 2024. During campus placements, I only managed to get a support role, so I opted for off-campus hiring and got selected by Accenture in November 2024. However, I haven’t received any onboarding details yet, and from what I’ve been told, it might take another **six months** or more. I feel like I’ve already wasted a lot of time, and I’m getting overwhelmed thinking about what to do next. I’m **not particularly interested in Instrumentation** and have been exploring opportunities in **Data Analytics/Engineering**. I have learned **Python, Power BI, and SQL**, but now I’m stuck and unsure of the next step. Here are my current options, and I’d love to hear your insights: 1. **Wait for Accenture** – But what if it gets delayed further? I don’t want to waste another year just waiting. 2. **Pursue a Master’s Degree (IT-related) in India** – Is it worth it for career growth? 3. **Study Abroad (MS in Data/CS-related fields)** – is this the right time to take the plunge? 4. **Focus on a Specific Field (Data/Software)** – Should I build a strong portfolio, do virtual internships, and try for jobs in Data Science/Engineering? I have also heard from people in core Instrumentation roles that **career progression is slow and involves a lot of internal politics**, which is another reason I don’t want to go down that route. I’m **not in a financial crunch or under social pressure** to start earning immediately, so I have the flexibility to build a solid career. But right now, **I feel lost and unsure which direction to take**. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has insights, **please help**—your advice would mean a lot!
