My Night Was Super Young - Graffiti Tees and Waltzes
2024 was an absolute train wreck, personally extreme rock bottoms and career wise edho okay, staying in chennai for new years after longest time and it’s been three years since I’ve had a drop of alcohol. So, I thought, what better way to kickstart 2025 than to let loose for a change I hit up this resto pub with my friends, it was owned by this uncle I knew. Everything was chill, and we were killing it on the dance floor. Turns out, the crowd loved our moves because random people kept asking me to dance. I said yes to a few, did some twirls with a couple of cool dancers, and thought, Wow, this is shaping up well! But as the night progressed, some guys started getting too drunk and behaving like they just got released from a zoo. Getting slightly turned off, that’s when I saw him. Picture this: a guy in a graffiti T-shirt, long wavy hair, and the kind of stern face that screams, “I’m here to vibe, not socialize” He looked fresh. Forget the alcohol, I felt buzzed just looking at him. Although there were some other guys asking me to dance with them, my eyes were just set on him. Well, the heart wants what it wants, right? Minutes later he barged over to the guy next to me asking for a lighter, and I, in my slightly tipsy glory, decided to shoot my shot. I asked him to dance. He said, “Yeah" as if I’d asked him to pass the salt. No excitement, no bhaav, nothing. I thought, Alright, this guy is just not into me. So, I carried on dancing and laughing as the clock neared midnight. But then, something made me glance his way. And guess what? There he was, staring at me. The lights were flickering, the music was thumping, and for a solid 3-4 seconds glancing at each other, it felt like a movie montage. I just knew he wanted to dance. A little later, his friends sort of nudged their way near me. I took the chance, tapped him on the shoulder, and asked him to join me. Turns out, this stern faced guy was actually shy & jittery but super excited. We tried a basic waltz, and I had to calm him down because, well, he was all over the place. We kept shouting our names at each other over the loud music, and it was Fanaa playing in the background. Thank you, AR Rahman, it was a pure vibe. It was honestly hilarious and heartwarming. I had dressed up well, got compliments, and felt great not just because I looked good but because I felt good, was doing what I wanted, laughing, dancing, and just enjoying myself. Chennai new year kicks different every time So, yeah, alcohol played a part, but the night was chef’s kiss. Now, the plan is to channel this energy (minus the booze) into my career. Oh, let me successfully clear the two certifications, please. I’m ready to crush 2025. Cheers to fresh starts and Happy New Year! 🎉🎈 Tldr: I had an epic night out at a resto pub to kickstart the new year. After some awkward moments, I ended up dancing with a shy guy, and it turned into a hilarious, heartwarming time.5
