Motorola - An IRRESPONSIBLE Brand
After just 1 year and 3 months of purchasing my Motorola Edge 30, the screen developed multiple green lines-a clear manufacturing defect. The service center in Chennai initially agreed to a free screen replacement, but after 10 Days of submitting my device, now claims they lack the required display due to a backlog of 60-70 similar cases. Instead, they're offering a mere 20% coupon(in exchange for my device) for use on their website, restricted to Edge series phones. This amounts to an unfair and deceptive practice by Motorola India. A similar brand- OnePlus has taken this issue into light and is offering a lifetime free screen replacement and incase of screen unavailability, they are providing a 80% coupon for purchasing a new mobile. This practice also goes against Right To Repair Act, by making spares unavailabe they are also forcing us to purchase their new device. Spares not available for a device which was launched before 2 and half years is absolute Nonsense. The display cost of my model is 7.2k and this 20% coupon that they are giving accounts to only 5k discount for a 25k phone, then how come this be a fair compensation???? Are brands thinking consumers are stupid? This post is to spread awareness among consumers and to show how cheap Motorola is, so think thrice before purchasing their product. I have posted the same on twitter, please try to support my cause. Followup: A person from head office reached out to me just to tell that this is the best compensation they can do. He had the nerve to argue with me that 20% coupon is a " Fair" compensation, like how bruh, it's lesser than display cost and my phone is working perfectly fine, why should I give it for such low price?2
