I friend-zoned Valentine's day again
Last year I spent February 14 by writing appreciative messages to friends and sending them individually along with an e-book based on my understanding of their reading tasts. Well, I did it again. I spent most of the day by writing and sending individual texts for friends. It was wholesome to see their reactions. Some of them didn't expect a message, let alone an appreciative message for their friendship. The process of writing all the messages by myself felt so good. I managed to use this opportunity to thank all those who played an important role in my life through their friendship. The thing that makes me feel good is sending the messages to more friends. Last year I only sent texts along with handpicked E-books to those among my friends who read books. But this year I widened the list. Instead of sending an e-book to those with no interest in reading, I made sure to write a longer message. I tried to make them feel special by talking about a special day or a memory that features them. Overall, I am so happy to have done this. This is my way of keeping myself from negative emotions, and more importantly, it is an opportunity I created to express my appreciation to my friends. That's all I have to say here. Thank you so much for reading this post. PS: February 14 is used to celebrate the joys of platonic friendships in Finland and Estonia. They give gifts to their best friends. I liked it, so I have adapted the celebration since last year.4
