Have our people lost it ?

Was surfing through news channels to keep updated on the current situation of the cyclone and on News18 one of the on field reporter was interacting with local public and few more kids on the beach shore

I was shocked, when the reporter asked them what were they doing there and why they came out and the replies were

“Wanted to experience this situation and the cyclone”

“Wanted to see the before and after experience”

“There seems to be puluthi puyal (sand/dune storm) wanted to witness it”

“Dad said let’s go out to beach” - said one kid

I couldn’t understand in how many other ways should the awareness be spread more than this, these are basic awareness and doesn’t need any particular education level to understand and how much can even the corporation and police officials control and monitor

The reporter was literally saying that there are multiple two and four wheelers coming in and parking and the crowd is constantly increasing

HTF can one not understand that the wind is gusting at 70km/hr and the waves are being ferocious and you are out with family and kids, no point blaming corporations, police and government when you/we can’t be responsible citizens
