Folks who have been to Pondy Bazar with their kids, is your experience also same?

Few days back, I went to Pondy Bazar first time with my little kid. And I just noticed so many donation seekers, balloon sellers all coming to us and insisting us to help. Saying buy for kid, we will pray for your kid etc. Like I have seem these folks before too but felt like I was targeted way more this time because I was with a kid. And they were so much more persistent. To the point where it felt like they were guilt tripping me. Now I am not saying all of them are scammers. Some of them might genuinely in need of money but no way for me to know. I have heard these street beggars/hawkers have a nexus too but I don’t know for real. I do sympathise with their plight and how much they have to toil in this heat and I couldnt help but feel guilty for not helping out. But I dont know how right or wrong it is to support such activities.
