26F & 29M – Getting Married Without Family’s Approval – Need Advice

Hey everyone,After nearly two years of trying to convince our parents, my boyfriend (29M) and I (26F) have decided to go ahead with our marriage. The main issue is that he is Muslim, and I am Hindu. Despite multiple discussions with both sides, they are completely against it and refuse to budge. Since waiting any longer doesn’t seem to change anything, we’ve decided this is the best way forward. Neither of us plans to convert, so we assume the marriage will be registered under the Special Marriage Act.I’m also unsure about how many people I can bring along. We have the required witnesses for legal purposes, but would it be alright to have a few others with us for support? I know our families will not take this well, but they wouldn’t go to extreme lengths to harm us. That isn’t a concern. However, I want to be as prepared as possible for any challenges beyond their disapproval. If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate any advice or insights on what to expect and how best to handle things. Thanks in advance!
