What was the outcome of the gathering on Sunday to protest the Rock Garden wall demolition

Just curious to know what the outcome was. Has the demolition stopped? Or will it continue I am baffled as to why this was allowed to happen in the first place. It’s probably one of the few places which is known the world over.
