Mohali: Dad went out for evening walk, brought back home injured by strangers

Hi, this is a long shot.... My dad went out for an evening walk as his regular routine in mohali near sector 71 around the radha swami complex. At around 6:30 PM he was brought back by a few strangers he was injured. My dad is a gursikh gentleman around 74 years old. Strangers mentioned that they saw him sitting and did not seem well and asked him the address and dropped him home. we were panicked and did not get any other details from the folks who came to drop my dad. We took him to hospital and my dad has been in ICU ever since. tests revealed he had suffered a hard blow to his head. we have no clue what has happened to him, was it a hit and run or someone hit him intentionally. My dad is conscious, he is talking ok but does not remember what happened the other day. First of all I would want to thank the strangers for dropping my dad home. I know people dont trust others these days, and try to stay away in such scenarios. But had these folks done the same, I dont know what would have happened to my dad. Thank you so very much.
