Guidance on relocating

I am planning to move to mohali and have been giving interviews I dont really know how to find accommodation. I have been contacted by some brokers, they are charging some kind of fees, in the name of membership. I dont really know what to do rn. I want to know how can I do it. I am just looking for a room with attached bathroom. I have never really shared my personal space with anyone before or lived somewhere far. So I really want to have privacy as well. Budget could be 7-8k.
