Appreciation of FM radio

I was on a long road trip in my car going through the western ghat to the eastern one. While music and Car Play were helpful, it was the FM station which kept me sane as the distance piled up. Why? Well, the music started to play on repeat, while the commentary from the radio jockeys felt more like a conversation triggering my mind to be more alert. Even after taking a good rest in a fuel bunk after lunch, the music wore me down, while the FM still kept me alert. While not everyone will agree to this POV, I am genuinely appreciative for the FM radio station to exist in the world of smart phones and music streaming services. They do provide an unknown sense of pleasure and satisfaction when you turn them on. TL,DR: Used FM to remain more alert while on a long road trip in a car compared to listening to music.
