How to get an FSSAI license in Bangalore?
1. Determine the type of license: FSSAI offers different types of licenses based on the scale and nature of your food business. Identify the appropriate license category for your business. The three main categories are:
a. Basic Registration: For businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs. 12 lakhs.
b. State License: For medium-sized businesses with an annual turnover between Rs. 12 lakhs and Rs. 20 crores.
c. Central License: For large-sized businesses with an annual turnover exceeding Rs. 20 crores.
2. Complete the application form: Visit the FSSAI website and find the application form corresponding to your license category. Fill out the form with accurate details about your business, including address, type of food business, and contact information.
3. Prepare necessary documents: Gather the required documents for your license application. The documents may include:
a. Identity proof of the applicant (such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or voter ID).
b. Address proof of the business premises (such as rental agreement, utility bills, or property documents).
c. Proof of ownership or possession of the premises (if applicable).
d. Certificate of incorporation (for companies) or partnership deed (for partnerships).
e. List of food products to be dealt with, along with their category and proposed capacity.
f. Food safety management system plan or certificate (if applicable).
g. NOC from the manufacturer (if the applicant is a re-packer or relabeler).
4. Prepare a blueprint or layout of the processing unit: Create a blueprint or layout plan of your food processing unit or premises where food is handled or manufactured. This plan should showcase the dimensions, operating area, and necessary facilities.
5. Submit the application: Submit the completed application form along with the required documents and the blueprint/layout plan. You can submit the application online through the FSSAI website or visit the nearest FSSAI regional office in Bangalore to submit it in person.
6. Pay the license fee: Pay the applicable fee for the license category you have chosen. The fee amount varies based on the scale of your business. The fee can be paid online through the FSSAI portal or through a demand draft, as specified in the application guidelines.
7. Follow up and verification: After submitting the application, FSSAI will review your application and may conduct an inspection of your premises. They will verify the compliance of your business with food safety standards.
8. Issuance of the license: If your application is approved, you will receive the FSSAI license. The license will be sent to your registered address or can be downloaded from the FSSAI website
