How to apply for a new ration card in Bangalore?
1. Visit any service kiosk like Bangalore One, Karnataka One, private franchises, Janasnehi Kendra, Grama Panchayath, or POS shops.
2. Provide Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for the applicant and family members.
3. Only Aadhaar card is required, no other documents needed.
4. Details from the Aadhaar card, including name, photo, age, sex, address, and mobile number, will be automatically copied to the ration card application.
5. Ensure at least one family member has the correct current address on their Aadhaar card, or update the address at an Aadhaar enrollment center.
6. Preferably, register a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card, though it's not mandatory.
7. Select the appropriate ward number in urban areas or Grama Panchayath in rural areas.
8. Choose a fair price shop within the Taluk/City.
9. It's preferable for all family members to apply together to avoid multiple application fees.
10. The eldest female member is selected as the head of the household.
11. The application is automatically sent for verification to the concerned ward/Grama Panchayath official.
12. The official visits the applicant's residence for verification and approves the ration card if eligible.
13. The applicant receives SMS notifications at various stages of the process.
14. The ration card is delivered by Speed post within 15 days, and a payment of Rs. 70 is made to the postman.
