What do you think about this? Bangalore Auto fare

So A relative of mine gets down at madiwala bus station and even though I told them not to get an auto and wait for me to book him a ride. They already sat in an auto and upon speaking over the phone with the auto driver, He mentioned that he will use the meter and charge "return fare" which meant double of the meter. I told the guy to give the phone back to my relative but he was smart and he cut the call. I called my relative again and asked him to wait if he had not started the journey. I was trying to book an uber and the call got cut again. This was 6AM in the morning and being woken up by the call, I like an idiot fell asleep again Only to find that an hour later the relative had arrived, The meter was Rs 900 and I had to pay him Rs 1800. Yes I for sure could have handled this better, and asked the relative to step out of the auto and wait and be more decisive. Please be careful and avoid autos at all costs. especially on a long journey.
