Issues with 112 emergency number?

Saw a post just now, in which a comment by the OP said he tried calling 112 but it didn't connect. I had tried calling 112 a few times about 10 days ago, but it didn't work then also. Have others also faced this recently? And if so, how can this problem be solved?
