Is Dosei quality and taste deteriorating at CTR Malleshwaram?
CTR is just a 5-6 minute walk from my home. I have been visiting that place for almost two decades now whenever I feel like going. Over the years, I have observed that the size of the Dosei has reduced drastically, becoming smaller and smaller, while the price keeps increasing. A decade ago, CTR's Dosei had a unique taste, but now it feels like just any other random restaurant. Recently, my TL came from the US for a vacation here. He specifically wanted to explore Malleshwaram and other prominent areas of the city, so I took him around the area. We eventually went to CTR because he wanted to try the Dosei there. There was a very long queue, but we waited, got inside, ordered Dosei, and later had filter coffee at By2Coffee opposite CTR. While having coffee, I asked him to review the Dosei we ate at CTR. His response was: "To be honest, it was not good. Before coming here, I had pudi masala Dosei at Rameshwaram Cafe and Mysore masala Dosei in Mysore, and they were actually better than the Dosei here." Afterward, we walked to Veena Stores, had idly, adam milk, and then parted ways. I have been thinking about this for a few days now. It’s not just him—many people have told me the same thing. They say they no longer find anything special about CTR's Dosei anymore. Do you feel the same?5
