How do politicians make money in Bangalore?

We all hear these stories about even the lowest level of politicians making 10+ Cr per year and the big ones making thousands and tens of thousands of crores per term. I know that some of the sources are kickbacks on government and infrastructure projects, donations from industrialists, land grabbing etc. In what ways do politicians make money? Can anyone give out an example and range of income that an MLA can pull in in a term? Personal annecdotes and experiences are appreciated
